On Friday we had a completely free day in Florence to do whatever suited our moods, appetites and credit cards! Saturday morning we were off on our trip to Venice. Don and Arlene stayed in Florence while the rest of us took in the watery sights of Italy's floating city. The weather was cloudy but thankfully there was no rain. Our vaporetta trip down the Grand Canal brought us in close contact with every kind of boat in Venice! Everyone managed to wander back to the station in time for our evening train to Florence.
